A colt has fetched an record $550,000 on the final day of Book One in Sydney.

The colt, out of Pouter, was offered on Monday by Murrulla Stud which also sold his sire at the 2013 Classic sale.

“For a little farm like Murrulla, to hold a record with a company like Inglis with such history and who have sold so many horses at this sale over so many years, I couldn't believe it to be perfectly honest,” Murrulla's Tim Nolan said.

“This is a massive day for our farm.

“Credit to all the team back home who work so hard with Celie and I. We don't have a lot of numbers and there's a lot of bigger farms that this happens to regularly but for a little farm like us, I don't know, it's hard to explain to be honest how big this is.”

Bloodstock agent Bruce Perry was thrilled to be taking the colt home.

“I thought he was the pick of the colts. We loved him,” Perry said.

“He is by a sire that looks like he is doing a really good job and I thought he was a stunning individual. I also love (the broodmare sire) Dubawi.

“If he can run, he has some great bloodlines.”

At the end of Book One, Brazen Beau, who stands at , was the leading sire by average ($247,857).

The sale continues on Thursday with the Session, a day after the Highway race day at featuring two Inglis-sponsored races, one fo country and one for provincial-trained horses.
