An impressive trial win has trainer hopeful his galloper can emulate his relative and become a stakes winner on Saturday.

No Annamossity is a three quarter brother to seven times Group One winner Buffering and Heathcote early on thought the gelding might also be up to elite class.

No Annamossity has had to battle serious injury problems but he has won six races.

The gelding was one of the stars of the recent where he made short work of a strong field including leading sprinter .

The trial was so good Heathcote decided to give No Annamossity a first up run in the Group Three (1200m) on Saturday.

“It was a very good effort in the trial. He has two pins in a leg he fractured in winning a race as a young horse. Who knows how good he could have been?” Heathcote said..

“But this seems the right race for him. He had an ideal barrier and while I don't think he will lead he can be right up on the pace.”

“If there is any rain he can also handle wet tracks which a few other might not.”

Heathcote is refreshed after having his best start to a season in years and also leading the industry in a protest which got better prizemoney.

He missed the win of his mare Stella in a stakes race last Saturday because he was having a break.

“I snuck down to Tasmania to see my family and play a bit of golf. But thanks to you it was on the back page of every paper in Australia, so I'm not telling you where I am any more,” Heathcote joked.

“But in all seriousness in these days of a high pressure seven days a week industry everyone needs to have a couple of breaks a year.”
